Bringing Baby Home (BBH)– Key Points:

Drs. John and Julie Gottman studied couples and their relationships for 30 years to find out  what is successful and not successful. Then the Bringing Baby Home research group studied couples having children for 13 years. This program, Bringing Baby Home, is the result of those 13 years.

Their finding is that within the first three years after bringing a baby home, 2/3 of couples have an increase in conflict and a decrease in marital satisfaction.

Did you know these are common problems after birth?

  • Interrupted sleep causes parents to be more stressed
  • Taking care of a baby takes more work than expected
  • Baby blues and/or postpartum depression can occur
  • Both parents are more irritable than before, leading to new conflicts
  • Sex, romance, and passion decline

Bringing Baby Home workshop: Learn practical skills to become a “master” and prevent  a “disaster” of relationships

. ***********************************************

Marc (Father): “We were overwhelmed with the transition to parenthood. BBH enabled us to put things in perspective. Since the workshop we have focused on strengthening our relationship and spending time together with our child. Our family life has become so much easier and more enjoyable.  This course is essential and I strongly recommend it to all new parents.”

Magdalena (Mother):  “The workshop made me realize that the most important thing we could do for our baby was to take care of our relationship.  Making time to communicate and to do things together has to go to the very top of our ‘to do’ list.  When things get hard, I remember this.”
